Speaker:

You are now tuned in to the mom CEO suite podcast.

Speaker:

I'm your host, Felicia, wife, mom, and

Speaker:

entrepreneur. In this podcast, I'll be sharing my mompreneur

Speaker:

journey along with strategies that will help you build your online

Speaker:

business operations in a sustainable way. The goal is

Speaker:

to help you build a business that fits into your lifestyle as a mom who

Speaker:

values putting family first. We will also hear the

Speaker:

experiences and expertise of other moms with service

Speaker:

based businesses. You'll get a peek into our journeys, so you'll

Speaker:

know that you aren't alone. Motherhood gets hard.

Speaker:

Entrepreneurship gets hard. But together, we can

Speaker:

do hard things. Welcome to the suite.

Speaker:

Hey friends. Welcome to another episode. Thank you so much for being here. So

Speaker:

today's episode is going to be a little bit shorter and

Speaker:

straight to the point. I'm going to be telling you guys about the 100

Speaker:

hard challenge for mompreneurs. Okay. There were a lot of little

Speaker:

things that. Kind of led up to the

Speaker:

quote unquote launch of this challenge. And I'm saying launch in quotes

Speaker:

because it's just, um, this is really a last minute

Speaker:

thing. And I'm really just going off of feeling

Speaker:

like I'm being lit to do this. Okay. so what is the

Speaker:

100 heart challenge for mompreneurs? So basically starting on

Speaker:

September the 22nd, every mom in business who commits to this

Speaker:

challenge. We are going to do one

Speaker:

heart thing every day. Now we're not doing the same.

Speaker:

Thing for the 100 days, every day is going to be

Speaker:

something different. And the purpose of this is to really

Speaker:

get out of our comfort zones to break free from

Speaker:

procrastination. Break free from fear and

Speaker:

really gained some momentum in life and in

Speaker:

business. And really this is all stemming, just from my personal

Speaker:

experiences over the past couple of days. And just,

Speaker:

I don't know if you guys have ever felt like there were a bunch of

Speaker:

little things nuggets being dropped or you were, or you felt like you were

Speaker:

being led in, in a direction and you got a bunch of little confirmations

Speaker:

about things. So that's kind of what happened with this.

Speaker:

And so I'm just going to really quickly share how this all came

Speaker:

about. But a few days ago, I had a random memory. I don't know if

Speaker:

you guys ever just have random memories of things from your past.

Speaker:

So I had this a random memory from years

Speaker:

ago. When I had planned a trip to New York.

Speaker:

To attend a trade show and back

Speaker:

then, I had the desire I still do,

Speaker:

but back then I was, uh, actively. Working

Speaker:

towards or doing the research towards starting an

Speaker:

online clothing boutique. And so I went, I was going to this trade

Speaker:

show, you know, applique the train ticket to New York book. The

Speaker:

hotel went up there for the day by myself. He came back

Speaker:

the next day. And I was talking to my husband

Speaker:

about it. And I had this memory and I'm like, wow, I

Speaker:

really used to just get up and go and do things. And

Speaker:

not second guess things and take action. And.

Speaker:

take more risks than I do now. And it really got me

Speaker:

thinking how over the past few years, and

Speaker:

that they didn't know if it wasn't related to motherhood, but I think it really

Speaker:

started. With COVID and then right after COVID I had my

Speaker:

daughter, so. COVID and then just becoming, um,

Speaker:

a mom and a wife, all kinds of consecutively. So for the

Speaker:

past four years or so. I've really just kind of been in my own little

Speaker:

bubble. Right. I've been online, but just kind of getting out there

Speaker:

and really connecting with people the way that I used to. Pre

Speaker:

COVID. premium life. It just, it looks different

Speaker:

now. So I was thinking about that trip, The

Speaker:

energy that I had back then, and I don't mean energy in terms of

Speaker:

just. You know, Not being tired from being a mom. I

Speaker:

just mean. Like the vibrancy and

Speaker:

the, I guess the audacity, the

Speaker:

bravery. That I had to try new things

Speaker:

that has been something that has been missing from my

Speaker:

life, from my business for the past few years.

Speaker:

So. That happens. And I'm like, man, I really

Speaker:

need to start just doing things, getting out of my comfort zone

Speaker:

again. So then either later that

Speaker:

night or the next day, a best friend of mine.

Speaker:

She had went to this event. and I saw that they were doing

Speaker:

another event. Basically quick pitch competition,

Speaker:

where you can pitch your business first, come first serve type of

Speaker:

situation, and they were hosting another one. And

Speaker:

October. And so. It kind of

Speaker:

clicked for me like, oh, this can be the start of

Speaker:

you. You know, getting back to that place

Speaker:

of audacity, that place of bravery, that place of

Speaker:

taking risks, that place of stepping out on faith. And

Speaker:

so I went ahead and I signed up for that event. Now. that

Speaker:

might not seem like a huge thing to you but for me,

Speaker:

just knowing the space that I've been in for the past few years, it's like,

Speaker:

okay, I'm really wanting. I'm really going to do this. I'm really going out to

Speaker:

an in-person event, which I have not done in so long. So there was that.

Speaker:

Okay. That was like my heart thing. I felt really good about it.

Speaker:

Um, you know, I was taking a risk. I was stepping outside of my comfort

Speaker:

zone. Then I saw something online. The next morning that

Speaker:

said there's a little more than a hundred days left. In

Speaker:

2024. I immediately hit this thought.

Speaker:

Like, wow. What if I did something hard every day

Speaker:

for the rest of the year for the 100 days? And

Speaker:

I I was reminded of how on social media, they have these

Speaker:

challenges. So they have the 75 soft and the

Speaker:

75 hard, honestly, I don't even know

Speaker:

what. People do during those challenges, I

Speaker:

just see people posting about 75 solves 75

Speaker:

heart. And I know that it's related to. Um,

Speaker:

Self-improvement consistency. I know there are some,

Speaker:

workout routine involves drinking. Water's involved. I'm not really a

Speaker:

hundred percent sure. I just know I've seen 75 solves 75 heart.

Speaker:

So I'm like, oh, Let's do a 100 heart

Speaker:

challenge every day. We're going to do something

Speaker:

hard. And then as I'm sitting thinking like, okay, am I really want to do

Speaker:

this? I was reminded of. My

Speaker:

own slogan that I created for the moms CEO suite. Well,

Speaker:

one of the slogans, which is a motherhood gets hard.

Speaker:

Entrepreneurship gets hard. But together we can do

Speaker:

hard things. It's literally in. The

Speaker:

intro to the podcast. And so I'm like, this makes total

Speaker:

sense. We are going to do these hard

Speaker:

things together. Because, as moms in

Speaker:

business, especially if you have small children,

Speaker:

It's so easy to get wrapped up and caught up

Speaker:

in the day-to-day of taking care of the kids. And if you're

Speaker:

married, you know, The day-to-day of being a wife and

Speaker:

just managing the household and all of those things, and it can be super

Speaker:

easy to lose sight of. Um, I don't want to say

Speaker:

lose sight of who you are, but it can be really quick for.

Speaker:

For you to not be the priority. Right. And

Speaker:

so. I really just want to create this space. Where

Speaker:

moms can push themselves back outside of their comfort

Speaker:

zone. It's so easy to get comfortable in being

Speaker:

home in working from home, in taking care of the

Speaker:

kids. That there's like this borderline or a

Speaker:

thin line, right? Remember the movie Finland between love and

Speaker:

hate. Right? So there's a thin line between. Understanding the season that you're

Speaker:

in and knowing that you have less capacity because you're taking care of the

Speaker:

children. There's a thin line between bed and.

Speaker:

And making excuses for you not taking action towards

Speaker:

your goal. It's a very, very thin lie. And so it's easy to

Speaker:

cross that line and get into complacency and to

Speaker:

stay in our comfort zones. Um, in the name

Speaker:

of, um, taking care of my children, this season is for the

Speaker:

kids, you know, not for me. I saw, I really just

Speaker:

went this challenge to be. An encouragement. Uh,

Speaker:

momentum shift for the moms who are going to participate. We are

Speaker:

going to every day, starting September the 22nd

Speaker:

every day, we are going to do a hard thing. Now the heart thing

Speaker:

does not need to be related to your business. It can

Speaker:

be. But it's it's really for anything in your life.

Speaker:

And so. If you need to have a hard conversation with somebody. If there's a

Speaker:

conversation you've been Avoiding, you can have that

Speaker:

conversation as one of your heart things. Even if it is in your

Speaker:

business, If you've been on the fence about sending more emails. And

Speaker:

one day you want to send two emails instead of sending one

Speaker:

email. It can literally be anything.

Speaker:

If you need to set boundaries with clients or you need to

Speaker:

set boundaries with someone in your family. That can be one of your

Speaker:

hard things. If you need to pitch yourself or complete a grant

Speaker:

application. Or, um, Even if it's

Speaker:

something, spiritually related, if you have not been

Speaker:

in a place where you've been able to pray and praying

Speaker:

feels hard for you, that can be your heart thing.

Speaker:

Talking to guy, maybe if your relationship with him has not been.

Speaker:

Um, that's strong if it's been strained and it feels hard to

Speaker:

talk to him that can be. Your heart thing,

Speaker:

opening up your Bible, doing a devotional. That can be your heart thing. So

Speaker:

it's going to look different for everybody. But. The

Speaker:

goal is for you to really be honest with yourself about what those hard things

Speaker:

are. And then every day just tackle one thing. One thing.

Speaker:

And then I'm anticipating that. At the

Speaker:

end of the year. We will be in a space. Where we are

Speaker:

outside of our comfort zones, where we are not being held back

Speaker:

by fear procrastination. We're not making excuses. And we

Speaker:

really have seen some momentum and changes in our

Speaker:

business and our lives. Okay. So if you want to participate

Speaker:

in the 100 heart challenge for mompreneurs. It is

Speaker:

all going well. The hub for is going to be our Facebook group.

The Mom CEO Suite: Work Life Balance & Business Strategies for Mompreneurs
Life and business strategies to help stay at home mom entrepreneurs thrive at the intersection of motherhood and entrepreneurship
Motherhood gets hard. Entrepreneurship gets hard. But together, we can do hard things.

I'm your host Phylica! Wife, mom and entrepreneur. I'm the Founder & Podcast Host of The Mom CEO Suite. In August 2021, I had my first child and life changed! It was no longer business as usual. This sparked my passion for helping to make life and business work together for mom entrepreneurs.

In this podcast, I'll be sharing my mompreneur journey, along with strategies that will help you build your service based business model online in a sustainable way. The goal is to help you build a business that fits into your lifestyle as a mom who values putting family first.

We will also hear the experiences and expertise of other moms with service based businesses. You'll get a peek into our journeys, so you'll know you aren't alone.
